Meet the D&D Leadership
Kathy I. Dieringer EdD, LAT, ATC
Kathy is a licensed and certified athletic trainer, who has been in the profession for over thirty five years, and is the original owner/founder of D&D Sports Med. She has extensive experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. Kathy is active in her profession, serving in various leadership positions and earning multiple awards throughout her career.
Active in the Denton community, Kathy served on the Board of Directors of the Greater Denton Sports Commission. She currently serves as an Ambassador for the Denton Chamber of Commerce and continues to provide athletic training services to numerous athletes in Denton and the surrounding areas. Kathy has also been active in various Olympic organizations as an athletic trainer, including USA Gymnastics and USA Volleyball. As a Wellness Member of USA Gymnastics, Kathy is recognized as a specialist in the treatment of gymnastics injuries. She served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of North Texas, and is currently a contributing faculty member for St. Augustine University and Moravian University. Kathy earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of North Texas in May 2007. An avid golfer, Kathy is Titleist Performance Institute Certified.
Kathy Heimerdinger PT, COMT
Kathy graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a masters degree in physical therapy in 2000. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics in the DFW area since graduating. Kathy is currently pursuing her doctorate of science in physical therapy through Texas Tech University and is working toward certification in orthopedic manual therapy through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine. Kathy specializes in orthopedic industrial and sports injuries and in sacroiliac joint disorders. She completed completed her COMT certification of the extremities in 2010. Kathy is also a member of the Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department.
Adele Olbricht-Foster PT
Adele graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University. She then went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1981 from UT Health Science Center in Dallas. Adele has enjoyed various experiences in working with children, adults, and seniors, primarily focusing on outpatient orthopedics. She and her husband, Charlie, reside in Lake Kiowa and have three grown children.
Mindy Smith OTR, CHT
Denton Hand Therapy
Mindy is a certified hand therapist, who has specialized in the treatment and rehabilitation of the upper extremity in the DFW area since 2000. Mindy graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1996 with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Mindy earned her Certification in Hand Therapy in 2007 and is also a member of both National and Texas Chapters of the American Society of Hand Therapists. She has comprehensive experience in postoperative and post- trauma hand therapy, as well as conservative management of upper extremity conditions. She utilizes a patient focused approach with splinting, modalities, therapeutic exercises and activities to maximize functional recovery. Mindy, and her husband Steve, have been residents of Oakmont in Corinth since 2000.
Alex Cruz PT, DPT
Alejandro, who commonly goes by Alex, was born and raised in Northern Virginia and graduated from Franklin Pierce University in 2017 with his Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree in Manchester, NH. Alex is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NCSM and is certified in sports taping techniques and kettle bell instruction. Alex has been practicing physical therapy for two years
and has a special passion for general orthopedics, sports medicine, post-operative rehab and merging the gap between rehab and return to sport. Alex hopes to achieve his CFMT one day
through the Institute of Physical Art as well as achieve his OCS through ABPTS. He is motivated by his willingness to keep learning every day, but more importantly impacting patients on a daily basis. In his spare time, Alex enjoys watching and participating in sports, exercising, and
spending time with family and friends.
Bree has been navigating insurance for over 10 years. She joined D&D in 2012 as a receptionist and progressed to the office coordinator position in 2014. She attended Sanford Brown University for her medical coding and billing degree and fell in love with physical therapy during her externship. When she’s not a work she loves spending time with her fiancée Cutler and her four children.
